Ralph’s Pro Tip:
“I would tell them to not be afraid to mess up, go for it baby, but don’t half ass it, whole ass it. Put your whole ass into it if you’re going to mess up, mess up. That’s how you learn. To anybody that’s new out there that wants to get started, I would say this - practice, practice, practice. Email School Athletic Directors, SID (Sports Information Directors) Coaches and say hey, I’m aspiring. Set the expectation and say, hey, I may not be the greatest, I may not be the best but I’m willing to work on my craft with you. Can I come in get some access to work on making images for you? This is kind of how I started, there was a semi-professional women’s team out there that didn’t have a lot of coverage at all, and I jumped all over the coverage. I said, I can’t guarantee you that everything’s going to be pro worthy, give me a shot, I can do it. Those smaller programs even at a small D2 school like ODU will be so appreciative of any anything you can do.”
